Through Stay on Track and the RAD Racing Team, the NCPRS keeps communities and children safe and drug-free. That's why, beginning this season, Stay on Track and RAD Racing Team are new partners of the ARCA Safety Initiative. With the partnership, ARCA can take a leading step toward ensuring the health and safety of our nation's youth.
The RAD Racing Team is a network of volunteers dedicated to promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle to our nation's youth. RAD provides a framework for motorsports professionals and enthusiasts to incorporate a drug-free message into their racing interests, allowing them to advocate for and serve their communities. A network of RAD spokepersons provides children with role models who educate, inform, and encourage them to make responsible choices, set appropriate goals, and refrain from abusing illicit substances.
The relationship with the ARCA Safety Initiative will begin this week at the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona International Speedway, as Jeremy Petty and Larry Barford Jr. will run the Stay on Track and RAD Racing Team logos in the 80-lap season opener.
Petty, Barford, and drivers from Venturini Motorsports will appear on behalf of the partnership at an autograph session tomorrow from 6-8 p.m. The event will take place at GoKart City, located at 4114 S. Nova Rd. in Port Orange. The drivers will speak to children about living a drug-free and healthy lifestyle, while also providing the kids the opportunity to race against them for free. Fans and all members of the community are invited.
More information about the programs is available by contacting Gail Sneed of the NCPRS at gsneed@ncprs.org or (386) 760-2254.
